水 墨 心 法
Mountains receding into mist along a river at evening; a lone fisherman in the lower current. Calligraphic inscription and seal at the upper-right. The composition follows the literati landscape tradition — more than half the surface is breath, not mark.
A white horse caught mid-stride beneath the artist’s transcription of Cao Cao’s “Though the tortoise lives long…” — a meditation on age and ambition.
A modernist counterpoint to the classical landscapes. Bold ink saturation, pooled jade pigment, with white bamboo leaves emerging from the wash.
A winter view: white peaks, a thin waterfall, the warm rust of bare winter branches in the foreground. The cold is rendered by what is left empty.
A single white character — 風, wind — drawn in negative against a wash sky, beside a bamboo bent in motion. The figure of the wind, painted by what it does to the leaves.
Pure expressive calligraphy — the brush moves quickly, the ink throws itself at the paper. A single seal grounds the chaos. The work is about what happens between the marks, not the marks themselves.
A single cursive character — 和, harmony — against the round paper of a fan. The accompanying inscription speaks of harmony bringing wealth, harmony bringing fortune.
A red-crowned crane on a pine bough — the classical pairing for longevity. Autumn rust runs through the roots; the crane’s posture is alert, almost intimate.
Eight pandas at play under an old pine. A study in joy and lineage — pine in seal-green, the pandas built from confident, playful brushwork. The master’s discipline can hold as much warmth as austerity.
A study in mineral blue. Peonies bloom in cool tones at the centre; a single small butterfly above. The blossoms are confident but unhurried, painted in the boneless (没骨) manner.
Five shrimp moving through unseen water — an homage to Qi Baishi’s legendary motif, reframed as a household blessing. Each body is two or three strokes; the antennae are felt rather than drawn.
A single tree, rooted, dense with leaves. Inscription: to become a great tree, do not contend with the grass. A meditation on growth and quiet ambition.
A pair of mandarin ducks — the traditional symbol of devotion — among willow and lotus. Light pink blossoms, jade leaves, the calm of a still pond. A natural fit for the wedding commission practice.

Anita Po Chu Pong (龐寶珠) has loved art for as long as she can remember. Born in Hong Kong and brought to London as a girl of thirteen, she was winning prizes for her calligraphy while still at school. At twenty-one she was interviewed for the Fine Art programme at Central Saint Martins — but the place was beyond reach, the cost too great, with family who needed caring for. The dream was set aside, quietly, and the decades that followed were given to work and to family: nearly twenty years in banking, then years spent building a business and raising three children.
Through all of it, the brush was never far. In recent years she has returned to it without hesitation — studying Chinese calligraphy, brush painting, and seal engraving, and giving her mornings to ink on rice paper. Her work moves between the reverence of classical xieyi and a contemporary eye unafraid of colour, abstraction, or stillness. She paints across both London and Hong Kong, drawing as easily from Song-dynasty landscape as from twentieth-century literati painting.

Her paintings have been shown and shared more than marketed — three works given to a children’s heart-surgery fund at Shanghai’s Art for Hearts exhibition, where they sold on the opening day. The brush, for her, is less a profession arrived at than a passion finally given its time.
Each work is signed and sealed by the artist. Provenance, dimensions, and medium are documented for every piece. Private viewings are offered by appointment.
